When installing Norton 2005 my Windows XP system lost the origional
Administrator User Account Icon on my start up screen and in the user
accounts section of control panel. I did not loose any of the accounts files
and folders. How do I restore this account without having system restore
activated? If I try to add it by the same name it says it already exists.

Use Microsoft's TweakUI powetoy to choose what users are seen on the Welcome
screen.

Hi Duane:

Is possible that before you installed the antivirus, your account profile
may be damaged, for this reason the account is "invisibie", try doing the
following:

a) Restart computer
b) Before the Windows Log appears, press repeteadly times the F8 (or F5)
key, until a menu appears
c) Select the first option: Windows Safe Mode
d) Select the Windows system installed in your pc
e) When a message indicanting the safe mode is active, prees yes button (or
enter key)
f) The list with the user installed in the system is displayed, choose your
account.
g) Create a new account and copy the files and info from the "invisible
account", when finish this task, remove the "invisible" account
h) Restart Windows and voila, the new account appears and your files and
info too.

Regards.
