I've lost my user account picture, the one that appears
at the top of the start menu.
It disappeared when I set the login screen to classic.

Does anyone have any ideas? All help greatly appreicated!

G'Day Richard,

The Classic view does not include that picture.

Switch back, and you will see it again.

Go to user accounts in the control panel and choose an account to change. Once you choose an account you will then be given the option to change picture. You can use whatever one you want. Even a picture of yourself can be used if you have a digital camera and have saved a picture of yourself in the "my pictures" folder for example. Then when you click change picture you can select one given or use the "browse" button and go to "my pictures" and then double click on your picture to choose it. Have fun. {:~)

Richard,

* Are you using XP's New Start menu and not the Classic Start Menu?

* See if this folder/sub-folder and all the files within, are intact:
C:\Documents and Settings\all users\Application Data\Microsoft\User Account Pictures

* Type REGSVR32 SHIMGVW in the RUN box. (from previous NG posts)
