User account no longer appears

I changed one of the user accounts on my XP Home machine to a limited user
type. This user account now doesn't appear in the user accounts dialog. I
even tried logging in as administrator from safe mode, but this account
isn't listed. I also tried to create a temporary user with computer
administrator
privileges. When I logged in as this new user, the original user account
still doesn't appear. What's odd is that I can still log in with the
original account, but since it's now a limited user, I can't convert it to a
computer administrator account.

I've seen some messages posted here recommending that you go to "Local Users
and Groups" from the computer management console, but XP Home doesn't have
this feature. Is there any other way to see all the user accounts on a given
machine?

if you deleted the admin account or changd it to a
restricted user , you can set it back to the admin
account loggin in as a administrator.
Did you try logging in as an administrator normaly or
creating an admin account and then that account change
the status of this account?

As I said, I couldn't see the user account in the user accounts dialog when
I logged in as administrator. You can't change the account type for an
account that you can't see.

It doesn't matter. I found out you can add a user to a user group manually.

NET LOCALGROUP <groupname> <username> /ADD

Thanks anyway.
