Used uTorrent to download Chessbase

I used uTorrent to download Chessbase--even though in the past I have
paid for CB. CB is a $300 database program that tracks chess games,
and is pretty much the industry standard in the chess gaming world.

Why? Because Chessbase Light, which was once freeware, now costs an
outrageous $100. That's morally wrong. CB company reneged on their
implicit promise to keep CB Light free--and so they deserve being
ripped off.

And because Chessbase got enough money from me--they should be selling
upgrades to previous registered owners for a nominal $30 fee, not ten
times that.

It took me several hours on a fast connection to get the goods, but
the program works. You just cannot check for updates online, since
you'll be blocked, but that's a small price to pay for an otherwise
fully functional and free program.

Note to TK of rgcm: did I do right? Yes I did. Recall I've paid for
CB in the past. Don't get on your high horse TK. I'm in the right
here--moral rights of the author, that sort of thing.

Ray Lopears returns and starts right in with his silly trolling.

I was always surprised he chose Lopez as his shield because he always
struck me as the Horwitz of the ng - the Moses Harry Horwitz of the
group, of course, not Bernhard. In fact, I don't think he has ever
bern hard. Nyuck. Nyuck.

The only Horwitz, Whore Wits, that comes to mind when I play is the
Horwitz of Horwitz Raking Bishops fame. On and off the board I'm a
player and a rake, raking it in. Who else has a hot girlfriend half
my age and can afford to retire to SE Asia?

I am sort of with Ray on this one.
I said once before that if one has bought a super-8 cartridge of The
Hissing of Summer Lawns, and one still has it, then I think DLing it
is fair. And for 300 clams you really are entitled to an upgrade. Does
the great Adobe Acrobat have free upgrades? Yes. Should Chessbase?
Even though it is a much smaller company...yes they should.
