Use symbols from a custom font in Find and Replace

I use a special font to write text with diacritical marks for transliterated
Sanskrit. It works fine in the document but not in the Find and Replace
dialog box, where I get only indecipherable symbols. Is there any way to get
the Find and Replace dilaog box text boxes to use the proper font, so that I
can replace words without the diacritical marks with words that do have them?
 
You can specify the font in More: Format: Font.
