USE OF THE $ SIGN

It signifies an absolute reference which means that if you insert/delete
rows/columns or drag a formula down the reference to the specific cell will
remain the same.
 
A good way to remember it is: Only when you give $, it does not move.
Otherwise, it just runs away.
