USB wireless adapter

I installed this wireless adapter an it wont work , we
found out it was my xp pro. computer error message when
try to connect to network : an operation was attempted on
something that is not a socket? when I went to the code
817571 an did what they told me to do an I remove the
winsock an winsock2 out of regedit an an then I went in to
adminator safe mode prompt an reset it tcp/ip an went back
to regedit an all that came back was winsock2 so I dont
know if I did it reight or not???? how else can you go to
c:promptto do this???? I dont know what else to do.

I hate that KB article, use the following to restore your winsock keys

1. Backup and delete the following registry keys

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock2

2. Reboot

3. Go to the network connections folder, right click the icon for your
network connection, and select properties.

4. Click install, choose "protocol", and click "add..."

5. Click "Have Disk...", enter "\windows\inf", click OK

6. Select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), click OK

7. When the process in complete, reboot
