This might sound a silly question but i have just had
windows XP home installed, all of the software i had
before worked fine. All of my games now keep crashing or
freezing up which locks up the whole system. When i unplug
the USB cable all of my software works fine.I was
wondering is this something to do with the windows OS or
is it my broadband ethernet cable.

Also this is the third attempt at writing this email as
it kept locking up,so i am writing this now without the
USB cable plugged in and it is working fine.

Thanx.

You might be as well to plug in that adapter, and in Control Panel -
System - Hardware - Device Manager look for it and use Action uninstall.
Then unplug it, reboot and reinstall its drivers from the NTL CD, using
the method given in their booklet. That worked fine for a friend using
Win98. I use a direct connection of the ethernet cable into a plug in
NIC network card (only about £10 at PC World)
