I don't know if this is the right place for this question, but.... Will a
device, such as a camera, with a USB 2 interface, work with a computer that
has USB 1? In other words, is it backwards compatible?

John Mc,

Thank you for the quick reply. My WAG was that it would work, but I'm not
afraid to ask. Thanks for taking the time.

Jeff

If you decide to purchase a USB 2.0 card you can also get a
combo card with USB 2.0 and Firewire which will get you just
about everything, cameras, camcorders, hard drives, etc,

message | Hi Jeff,

| Quiet simply YES (in almost all cases) ,
| but i think you'll understand that it will only work at
USB1.1 speeds.
| Though you could simply purchase a USB2 PCI card
| for the inside of your machine and take advantage of full
speed.
| UK around £20 for a 4-porter
