USB Question

My hardware manager indicates that I have 5 USB controllers only one of
which is shown as "USB2 Enhanced".

I occasionally get a brief message advising me that my USB controller
could be working faster and I must assume that the reference is to one
of the non USB2 controllers.

I have tried to update the drivers but no more appropriate driver is found.

Can somebody advise me what is going on and if there is a solution.

You do have SP2 installed?

Yes ... should have mentioned ... SP2 is installed

That's normal. An USB2 controller has two logical 'incarnations',
one for USB2 and some for USB1. It depends on the attached device
which incarnation is used.

With this tool you will see that the number of USB2 and USB1 ports
is equal because they are identical physical ports.
