usb probs

whenever i plug usb device in ( web cam , portable hard drive ) the pc stops
responing and hangs . it all used to work fine , going round the twist trying
to resolve it . any ideas please ?

Go to Start/Run, and type DEVMGMT.MSC , highlight the USB Hub device(s),
Action menu, "Uninstall", then restart Windows, to find the device drivers
again automatically.

Possibly a power drain problem. USB devices usually draw a small
current, and if one of them or the interface is faulty it may be drawing
too much current. Or your power supply may be degraded.
