Hi,
Go to belarc.com to download the belarc advisor or go to lavalys.com to
download the Everest Home Edition. Both are free softwares to check for the
spec of the OS.
Everest Home Edition can provide more detail info on the OS than belarc
advisor.
BTW, you seemed to have installed 2 XP Pro on the same machine in different
drives. If this is the case, you need to amend the boot.ini to disable one OS
during boot and than remove/delete the OS. It is better to keep the OS in C
drive.

how do i find the motherboard chipset drivers, and how do i know if it's VIA
based? thanks...
:
You may need to install the corrent motherboard chipset drivers, in order
for Windows Xp to be able to see the USB ports. Also, if the chipset is VIA
based one, you may need to install the VIA USB filter driver.
the guys who fixed my computer installed regular xp on my box... there is
nothing plugged into the usb ports, they have their own ports... my
computer
was built by an old friend. i go into the device manager, and nothing
shows
up "universal serial bus controller" or anything like that. before they
fixed
my computer, i was running windows xp pro, and tried reinstalling it, and
that's when i started having issues with my usb webcam, but i just thought
[webcam] was a piece of shit. then i suddenly had two windows xp pro's, as
i
have 2 hard drives. i don't know how they fixed it, but i'm running
windows
xp on my c: drive. i have a floppy drive, and a cd rw. also an e: drive
for
storage.
:
Hi,
Have you installed SP1 or SP2.
If yes, disconnect any USB devices including the USB mouse &
keyboard(use
PS/2 mosue and keyboard at this time). Go to device manager and check for
the
universal serial bus controller.
If you see any yellow ? mark on the USB controllers, right click on it
and
then select uninstall. Click Apply or OK to confirm the uninstallation
and
then reboot.
Windows should find new hardware and reinstall the proper USB drivers.
Hope it helps.
