Hello,
When copying to a USB drive and the USB runs out of space, does anyone know
if windows logs an event in event log?
Some data has been lost on the a server and we are trying to piece together
what has happened. This is what we THINK may have happened.
We have a customer who decided to 'Move' some folders from the server onto
her memory pen (She should have copy/paste but anyway). The server has one
shared folder called data (5Gb) which consists of all company files and gets
backed up. The folder data was then moved to the memory pen (2gb space) using
a users machine and then due to the size of the pen it hit it's limit and
only some data was moved (about 2gb) and the rest was left on the server
(3gb). The data is then deleted from the pen.
This would explain that about 1.9/2 Gb of data is lost from the data folder
on the server. To confirm our theory, I was wondering if windows xp logs an
event when a USB hits it's size limit or if a move was incomplete.
Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Luke
