Somehow my boss managed to lose the mapped drive to the
USB key. When re-inserted it adopts the G: however this is
a mapped server drive. I need to reassign the USB key
(which cannot been seen in explorer) a new drive letter
however have failed in finding how to do it. In disk
drives properties (where it does appear) you can populate
the empty volume but again it always grabs G:.

Any ideas?

Use diskmgmt.msc to reassign drive letters.
