USB mass storage device problem......

Hi all,

While plug a USB device (CHRONOS External case with a
Maxtor 40GB disc on it) in a 2k or XP system, it seems to
install and read succesfull the USB driver, also the USB
icon at the right-bottom of the screen appears, but the
system DOESN'T assigns a driver letter in order to use the
hard disk data.

This usually means that the disk controller part inside the enclosure,
somehow fails to work.
The USB part happily reports it is ok, but the disk is unusable with no indication.
