USB Hub?

Any reason why my Brother HL-1240 laser printer won't work through my
powered USB 2.0 hub?
 
I called Brother and talked to them. They said the printer was not designed
to work off of a hub. Is that possible?

Your post made me try my Lexmark X75 plugged direct into the PC motherboard
socket. It now works fine whereas it was refusing to work when plugged into
the USB hub built into my LG monitor - so it looks like the answer is yes!

I figured since it was a powered hub there wouldn't be any difference
between that and a direct hook up.
