usb harddrive power

The part of my harddrive that i plug the power cord into is bad. and i wanted
to know if i can replace the piece thats bad are if i have to get a new
harddrive.
my hard drive is a
 
Why post this here? If you can't plug in the device to the power mains,
contact whom you think may best be able to assist you - and it isn't the
power company!

what i mean is can i take the hardrive out of the external case and put it in
as a slave drive in my computer because the connecter is bad
sorry fo the mixup
 
Yes, but you will void any warranty in doing so.
