Hi,
In our organization we have numerous Windows 2000 laptops, however we do not
run a Windows domain, and each client is managed as a stand-alone.
Our policy is that the user is to have Power User rights on their laptops.
However, when the user plugs in their USB Floppy Disk Drive, they get an
error saying they don't have permission to install the hardware.
I have tried temporarily elevating their priveliges to Admin (locally) and
the installing the USB floppy, and then moving them back to Power User. This
seems to work temporarily, but the problem appears again a few days later.
Is their a permissions or Local Policy setting that I'm missing that will
allow Power Users to access the USB floppy drive? I think the problem may be
that Win2k considers the USB floppy to be "Removable Media".
Thanks in advance!
