USB Flash memory

I need help because i´ve just bought a usb flash memory and the XP is not
able to give format to it. It displays a message of : "unable to complete
format" while the procedure is runing. so i´m unable to use it.
can someone hepl me??

What type and size of Flash Memory? Is is a "flash" drive? What does the
flash memory manufacturer tech support say about this problem?

Most USB flash drives already come formatted.
