I have about a half-dozen USB external enclosures, acquired over the
past year or so. These enclosures have no useful documentation. Is
there any way to determine the maximum hard drive capacity an enclosure
supports? Some utility that can read it's firmware, perhaps?

And if I CAN determine capacity, is there any way to update the
firmware to support larger drives?

Thanks,
Jack

You'll have to visit the support web site of the manufacturer
of the enclosures and perform a search for any available
relevant technical information.

Yeah, I've tried that, but so many of these enclosures are "generic",
either not showing a manufacturer name or model number. I think
several that I have are by Bytecc, but again, without a specific model
number, I can't find the necessary info.
