My computer recognizes my usb mp3/flash drive, but does
not read the drive. The files on it do not show up in
windows explorer and I am not able to paste new files to
the drive. I do not know what to do!

What operating system are you running on, and please identify the service
packs you have installed. That may give us more ideas on how to help you
further.
Have you tried attaching this device on another machine to see if there are
no issues with this device itself?

You may also want to see if the device has some kind of a "read only"
switch. Some of them do (just like the old 3.5" floppy drives) and they have
been known to manifest themselves in some weird ways.

Looks like you've had no response. I've just posted a
similar problem with a USB memory disk device that gets
recognised but is effectively inaccessible as I'm told
the device is unformatted. If you had any luck then can
you post a reply

Did you assign a drive letter to the drive?

Right click on My Computer, select Manage. On the following screen, select
Disk Management.... drive will appear on the right hand side of the screen,
assign it a drive letter.
