USB Bootable Drive

~~Alan~~

My Dell E510 is supposed to be able to boot from a USB External Drive.

Can I install Vista on a USB external drive, boot from it, and leave my XP
installation on my internal SATA drives intact with the ability to boot from
either OS, my XP installation being my default?

Thanks,

No. Windows Vista can only be installed
and run on an internal hard drive.

OK then, Can I repartition my internal drive and install Vista on the
unpartitioned part and still boot from either OS with XP being my default?

Good - One last question: Can I boot off of the C: drive but install Vista
on the USB?

I'm really trying to preserve my C: XP installation as is only to install
and explore Vista.
