I just installed an Ali corp USB 2 card in a PCI slot. When connecting my
device (Epson 4180 scanner) to it, I get a messasge saying that it's a usb 1
connection and my device will not operate correctly or operate slower than
capable. It seems to operate alright but no quicker than my former scanner
which was usb 1.1
Have I done something wrong in the install? I used the drivers provided
(Techgear) with the card.
According to the device manager, I DO have an Ali enhanced USB 2.0 Host
controller installed and working properly.
Why the message?

TIA,

Art,
DID YOU connect the Epson Scanner to one of the new USB jacks stemming
from the card you inserted OR did you, as I suspect, plug it into one of
the old jacks? The older jacks are connected to the motherboard AND are
not upgraded or affected in any manner by that new enhanced USB 2.0 Host
Controller. They will continue to function at their previous (probably
USB 1.1) speed.
