Hi all,

I have a USB 2.0 card reader, which reads / writes SD, CompactFlash, MMC and
so on... cards.

No problems at all with CompactFlash, haven't used the other ports except
SD....

If I format the SD card with my digital camera, and then insert the disk
into the reader, I can read and write a bunch of files to and from the disk
no problem.
Upon removing the card and re-inserting it, the data on the card appears
corrupt.

Using the SD card in my camera, everything works fine, yet XP still sees the
files as corrupt.

Write-cache is switched off, so that I can remove the card easily.

Any ideas? :-(

Thanks guys.

Anyone?

The only thing that I can think of is the compatibility of your card and the
SD reader. If your card is over 256MB, you might want to get a new reader
for this.

Hope this helps.

Yes, I believe Sarah is correct. I had a similar issue with a Scan Disk
"Stick". Scan Disk offered to replace it, but I bought 2 at 2 different
places, and they both are problematic, so I knew replacing would not do any
good. Turns out the problem is that they are the "Pro" version sticks, and
are not compatable with my 2.0 reader.

Thanks guys. But the bit I don't understand it that it used to work. Then
one day it decided not to, which suggests to me that something has changed
in the config. Just wish I could work out what and change it back.... :-(

Thanks again for your replies. :-)
