URL resource locator bug

According to some RFC this should be a legal URL
http://username:[email protected]/directory/index.html

However Ms Explorer doesn't seem to be capable handling this.
It reports an invalide syntax error (at the title) and doesn't show nothing.

Other less used software like CSE HTML validator did implement it correctly.
I have version 6.0 on Windows 98.

So I think shortcuts to password protected pages aren't possible with
Explorer.
