URGENT!! - Windows gives error while start up.

When I try to start windows sp on my PC, it gives the following error:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\windows\system32\config\system

Pls help urgently.

This error message indicates a corrupt registry.

Start the PC and when it begins to initialize, start tapping the F8 key
continuously until you see a boot menu. Use the arrow keys to select the
"Last Known Good Configuration" option and press the Enter key. This should
fix the problem.
