Hi,

Can I replace an INTEL P4 Celeron 1.8 Ghz CPU to a non-celeron P4 1.8 Ghz
CPU without having to reinstall Windows 2000?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Best regards,

Honestly, I don't think you can replace a Celeron
processor with a P4 processor. They have different chip
sets, internal programming, cache size, etc. I do not
think they are compatible at all.

Celeron chips are a low end processor and are not a member
of the P4 family.

What type of system are you running? What type of
motherboard is in the system?

Some motherboards DO support Celeron and P4 processors.

Yes you can. Windows will not complain in any way or fashion.
