Urgent help needed - moving location for Windows Temp files

I wanted to move the location for the Temp files from my C
drive to a separate physical drive, just to keep my main C
drive a little less cluttered.

I did the operation in to Tools menu and it rebooted. Now
the system has been starting up and in the Updating Sytem
Settings for about an hour. There is disk writing going
on so it seems like it's doing something.

But, my question is, am I actually hung or is this type of
behavior and >1-hr normal.

Yes, after an hour you are hung up. Move the temp folder back to original
location or perform a system restore.
