URGENT:Contacts Folder Home Page URL to Public Folder URL doesn't

Guest

I am attempting to create a secondary Contacts Folder in my main mailbox
which uses a URL link to a Public Contacts Folder for my department.

i.e. outlook:\\Public Folders\All Public Folders\My Company Local Site
Folders\Local-Mississauga Local Site Folders\Local-ITDept\Contacts

I go into the secondary folder properties, Home Page tab and enter the above
URL and then click the checkbox 'Show Home Page by default for this folder'
above.

I can get this to work on most user's workstations but not all. It doesn't
seem to relate to permissions because even with minimal permissions, it will
display as configured, but Owner permission on the Public Folder doesn't
guarantee that it will show the contacts in the 'shortcut' folder in my main
mailbox.

Please let me know what else might be getting in the way of doing this.

Thanks!

My real question is, why are you doing this? Wouldn't it be simpler to add the PF to PF Favorites?

Simpler, yes. Adequate, no. Been there. Done that. Too far down to scroll.

With the technique described below (bearing in mind it has been working
perfectly on most workstations) allows the user to position the linked folder
right up in the main Exchange server mailbox. We just can't figure out why on
certain workstations it's not working.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers!
