i accidentaly did a system recover i believe and turned off the computer
before it did anything. when i restarted the computer i saw it starting up
then once it passed the windows loading screen it goes black. if i enter my
password i can hear it start but it stays black. when i re-start again in
safe mode it doesnt do anything.

please help

That's because you shutdown while it was in recovery. Certain registry
settings have been changed .. and Windows now is confused.
Have you tried the Repair option?

how would i go about the repair option?

Hi,

As the system begins to load, hit F8 repeatedly to get the Windows boot
menu. Load the Last Known Good Configuration.

When you're at this point, power-cycle your monitor
(off - wait 15 sec - then on).

See what happens.

If still nothing, borrow another monitor to try. You need to get
back in somehow to fix things...
