I would like to .mdf rather than an .adp for a sql server database. When I go
through the wizard steps I get an .adp. How would I geta .mdf?
Thanks

You mean mdb, not a mdf?????

When you using the upsizing wizard, do NOT choose the option to

"Create a new Access client/server Application"

If you choose the above, you duck soup, as that will create a adp project,
and most (if not all) of your reocrdset code will break.

The option you want to choose is:

"Link SQL Server Tables to existing Application"

The above will NOT force you to use a adp project, but will allow you to
keep your application intact as "is" (ie: a regular mdb). The upsize wizard
will simply will add linked tables to your application.

There is of course a 3rd option "do nothing", and that option is quite
useful for transferring data to sql server, but no needing linked tables....
