uppgrade problem, file on CD is missing.

I have 98 ME and cant uppgrade with the win 2000 CD without having to
reinstall every program. The reason is a "dll" file or something is missing
on the CD. I noticed this after several years of not using the CD when I
wanted to uppgrade.

Thanks for help

The "upgrade" from the DOS version of Windows to the NT version of
Windows frequently has issues due to leftovers and software
incompatibilities. Since there is not a Windows98 ME version, I would
suggest that you leave well enough alone.

Do you have Windows 98 or Windows ME?

There's an upgrade path from Windows 98 but not from Windows ME (as it
is newer than W2K).

However, I'd personally never upgrade. I'd rather do a fresh install and
enjoy the clean PC experience :)

Upgrades are very often problematic!
