Uploading reports into excel

my cells have a ' in them - any ideas on how to remove from cells?
example:
'12-FEB-09
 
Enter 1 in any empty cell
Copy the cell
Select the cells with ' in it
Right-click and choose Paste Special
Click on Multiply and then click OK

That shoud do it...
