Upgrading Vista Home Pro

I would like to upgrade my Vista Home Pro to Vista Business so that I can use
Virtual PC,but I was wondering if that would remove my Media Center that
comes with Vista Home Pro.

I am running Virtual PC 2007 on Vista Home Premium with no issues. I run XP
Pro on VPC 2007. It runs rather fast!

You cannot upgrade from Home Premium to Business. The only upgrade
available from Home Premium is to Ultimate. So if you went from Home
Premium to Business, you would need to do a clean install, which would
result in a load of Vista that would be missing the Media Center components.

The OP is talking about going from Vista Home Premium to Vista Business, I
believe. The Vista Home Premium license does not allow it to be run in a
virtual machine.

Do you mean going from Vista Home Premium ( there is no Vista Home Pro) to
Vista Business? If so, there is no upgrade path for it so it would need to
be a clean install, and there are no Media Center features in Vista
Business.

You can do an in place upgrade from VHP to Ultimate which does have Media
Center.

That may be, but there is no limitation in the license or other that I'm
aware of that prevents you from running a Virtual machine with Vista Home
Premium as the host.

What I meant was that the VHP license says it can't be run in a virtual
environment, but it doesn't preclude you from running VPC on it.
