I have two dirves c: & d:. My operating system is on c:,
the d: drive contains thousands of mp3 files. I want to
upgrade to XP. Can I load XP on the c: drive with the NTFS
file system and still be able to access the files on the
d:drive which are in the FAT32 file format?

Hi Bob,

In a word: Yes.

yep. you can still access files from drives using the fat32 file system even
when the drive you have installed winxp on is using ntfs.

just make sure that when you install winxp, you DON'T choose to format the
drive where you want winxp to be installed on.

yes you can and you can even convert your fat32 to ntfs
without losing the data

Yes. What file is on C: is irrelevant. XP can access any
combination of hard drives/partitions using NTFS, FAT32, FAT16,
and FAT12, regardless of what file system it is installed on.
