Hello,

While I'm trying to upgrade to XP Pro, I get a message that says warning...
the version of windows that you are trying to install (XP Pro) is older than
the version on your machine (XP Home Edition). I've recently installed SP2
and was wondering if that might have something to do with this message. Is
there anything you all have experienced that you might be able to offer some
help?

Thanks!

Hi

That error is because SP2 is installed and you are trying to upgrade from an
earlier version of XP. You need to create an SP2 slipstream CD.

You can download the SP2 file (266 MBs) from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...BE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en -
or if you have a copy of the SP2 CD, you can copy the xpsp2.exe file that
onto your hard disk/partition and use that:

and then follow the directions in the following article to create a
slipstreamed XP CD - which will enable you to perform the upgrade to XP Pro
SP2:

http://www.msfn.org/articles.php?action=show&showarticle=49

Otherwise you will to use the XP CD you have, to revert to the version of XP
on the CD, then upgrade to SP2 again afterwards.
