upgrading to office 2003

I have Office 2000 and bought the upgrade to 2003. In the process it says it
is going to remove all my 2000 from my computer before it installs. Will it
carry over all my contacts and calendar appts and emails from OUtlook or do I
have to do that myself? And if I have to do it myself, what format do I
export them in, .pst? Once I export, when I open the new 2003 Outlook will
it prompt me to find them or do I need to do an import?
Thank you.

It did it fine, but my new Norton Internet Software is screwing up my being
able to send email, I had to turn off a function in it for it to send, weird.
I was receiving email OK, but wouldn't send.

That's not unusual. DIsable the mail integration features. Norton tools
don't play well with Outlook.
