Upgrading the A7V333?

Adam

right now i have, 2000 xp chip in there, with 512 MB 2100 MB.

im lookin to up grade it up to the 2700 MB, and then the chip. on the asus
website it gives a list of memory, that has been tested, there is no 512 MB
2700 DDR tested on the list, does this mean, i cant. use 512?

Any help, any suggestions on upgrading this board?

I first used Kingston value ram 256 meg ddr2100, got
some problems when burning 2 cd's at a time, switched
to 1 then 2 sticks of kingmax 256meg/2700, went to kingston
hyperx 512/333 cas 2, it supports 512 meg sticks, but is picky,
use good ram, default mem voltage is 1.6v/overclock by asus!
Running a amd 2400+ now!
Pretty well maxed out, had to flash bios to get the 2400 to recognize!

I put a 512 MB stick of Samsung 2700 DDR in my son's A7V333--worked great
until the MB bit the big one... :(

I'm using 2 sticks of samsung 256 2700 in slots 1 & 2 and 512 of Samsung
2700 in slot 3 on my A7V333.

This setup has worked perfectly with Windows XP since I installed the 512
stick back in August (2003).

If you are wishing to run 2 sticks of 512 put 1 stick in slot 1 and the
other into slot 3.
Thats the way to ensure this board runs stable.

I''m not sure what brand I used, bought them off eBay, PC2700 512MB DDR.
Used two sticks in slots 1 and 2. Works like a champ. The board rev was
2.0.
