Upgrading NT to 2003 How will XP clients react?

I am upgrading my NT domain PDC to a 2003 AD Domain Controller. Current
domain name is "irvine" and will become "irvine.local" for 2003 AD.


How will my current XP clients react? Will they automatically update to the
new domain name, or will I have to remove and rejoin each machine? I assume
since the netbios name and SID for the domain remain the same the XP clients
will automatically adjust. If anyone here has gone through this please post
your experience.
 
You don't need to configure anything on client Windows XP machines if the
domain will be as u mentioned.
