Upgrading from Win 98

Is thete some general guidelines when setting up a new Win2k machine?
I have 20-30 users in a small workgroup/domain currently running Win98. I
want to move everyone to Win2k, but it seems that the initial setup is quite
a pain. Most of them are running Office 2000, Acrobat, NAV, & a terminal
emulater used to connect to a SCO Unix machine. When I initially install,
I'm logged in a the Admin of the computer, but when trying to log into the
domain as a user, most of the applications don't want to work-they will act
like I'm trying to install them & say they can't be installed by someone
who's not an administrator. Obviously, I don't want to make everyone members
of the Admin group, is there an easier way to accomplish this?

Once you get the app installed under the admin account try starting them up.
I have noticed that with Outlook 2000, at least, you need to install the app
and start it under the admin account. Once started under the admin account,
users can then access it without the problem of not having enough permission
to install whatever it is Outlook installs on the first startup after the
initial installation.
