Upgrading from NT4

I have an NT4 domain that I am upgrading to a w2k domain.
After my upgrade I would like to remove the upgraded
server and have a new w2k server be the DC for the
domain. What is keeping me from adding the new server to
the NT environment and then just upgrading it is the fact
that I can't get support for a 30 GB drive in NT. I don't
want to have multipe partitions. If anyone has any ideas
as to the best way to accomplish this it would be greatly
appreciated. I would like to not transfer the FSMO roles
if at all possible. If this is the only way what is the
best way to make sure that the new DC has everything it
needs to successfully control the domain on its own.

Thanks in advance.

You could always set up an intermediate server as a BDC while connected to
your existing network, a PC will do. Promote it to PDC then upgrade to Win
2k and AD. Then set up the server with the 30 gig drive as a Win 2k DC in
the domain with the intermediate server.

Only thing is you will have to transfer the roles. Once your final server is
ready to take the place of the intermediate server, running dcpromo on the
intermediate server to remove AD *should* transfer the FSMO roles
automatically.
