Upgraded to XP--where'd all foles go?

I just upgraded my system from ME to XP. When I opened
the system in XP, the my documents folder is empty. It
had previously contained a large number of files and
documents. I used the steps under quick upgrade in the
installation instructions. Where did my files go when XP
was installed; how can they be retrieved? Any help would
be appreciated.

Look here:

C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\My Documents

Did you do a back up of your files? Remember, back up is a computer user's
best friend.

I would try and use the search function for one of the files that you know
the name of and see if it's there and where.
