How do I upgrade from 5.5 to 6.0. Or.... How to I make my
internet connection faster.

B: I'm no expert believe me, I'm struggling through my IE
problems. But I know you can go to the microsoft website
and download IE6, save it to your desktop, and it should
be easy from there.
As far as your internet speed, well the only thing I can
think of would be a different connection, for example
DSL, cable modem, satellite connection, but keep in mind
these cost extra dollars but you will gain the speed you
want and you will want to check availability for each of
the different hook ups, some of which you can do online.

The Windows Update site hasn't offered to upgrade your IE 5.5 to 6.0? It
should do that when it scans your machine. You can always go straight to
the Internet Explorer site to download the latest version. As for
connection speeds, if on dialup, there isn't much you can do. Your phone
line into your house needs to be in good condition as this is the most
common source of problems with dialup speeds. Otherwise, you need to look
into broadband.
