| Upgrade Toshiba Satellite 310cds notebook to Win XP

If you are asking if it is feasible, be careful what you buy. Many notebooks
require unique OEM versions for a specific notebook, so a retail version may
not work. Check with the manufacturer.

Eh?

Papa is correctly pointing out the fact that laptops/notebooks require
special drivers that are usually not found in retail versions of XP. Never
attempt to upgrade a laptop/notebook to XP without first going to the web
site for the notebook and see if there are specific instructions there for
the upgrade. Many times the upgrader will have to download XP drivers for
that computer before starting the upgrade. Anyone wanting to upgrade a
laptop/notebook will avoid a lot of problems by carefully following the
upgrade instructions from the maker's site.

That's not what he said. he said and I quote: " Many notebooks require
unique OEM versions for a specific notebook"
which is in general, rubbish.
