I'm trying to stay with my current operating system
(Windows ME)and saving myself the time and effort to
upgrade to Window XP. Windows ME, however, is giving me a
lot of trouble when I'm online. I often get bumped
offline, links don't respond, freezes, infinite loops,
etc. As a result, I'm often having to restart my computer.
I'm not sure if the cause of my problems is Windows ME or
if it's AOL, or what. I know it's not virus problem. I've
also done 2 clean reinstalls of Windows ME including the
Dbug procedure, in DOS.

I have two computers at home networked together. The
Windows ME system has a wireless adapter connected to it.
The other computer has Windows XP and is hardwired to a
linksys router and the DSL modem (DSL through AOL). Could
this have something to do with the problem? I don't know.
I've heard that a lot of people have problems with Windows
ME. Can anyone help. I'm not sure if I should upgrade?
Are there any former Windows ME owners who had similar
problems and who found satisfaction after upgrading to
Windows XP?

Thanks

AOL has always been a problem since Windows 95. It seems to try to take
Windows over.

If you ask me, I thinks its ME
I've read that ME suffers from v1.0 syndrome and probaly a case of Y2K. I
think they are joking but it seems partially true.
But anyway. I find ME really no good at all. One time, I tried to copy files
from a key drive to the hard drive on
one of my friends computers and explorer crashed over 6 times in less than
10 minutes trying to do this.
You should "upgrade" to XP, its worth it.
