When I upgraded to windows xp I lost my floppy drive.
When I try to reinstall it, I get a message that it is
installed. I cannot see it on My Computer or access it
from my documents. Someone please help me.

I need more information. Try going into device manager by
right clicking my computer and clicking on 'manage'. Then
select device manager. One done see if your floppy drive
show up in there. If it does and it's got an exclamation
mark beside it, double click it and see what it's
complaining about. Safest option is to uninstall the
device and restart; it should find it on restart. If it's
got a red 'X' thru it it could be disabled. Try right
clicking and set to enable.

The device manager is your best point of reference. It
lets you see every working an non-working but
recognisable device attached to your system. If it
doesn't show up at all, check the physical connections to
the drive. Failing that it could be a fault with the
drive. Unlikely as it was working before the upgrade, but
still possible!
Best of luck!
