Upgrade to XP

We have a server using Windows 2000 we want to link (via VPN) with another
computer that uses XP. So we are thinking of switching the 2000 machine over
to XP. Can any of you give me the Pros and Cons of doing this? Thanks for
your help!
 
It will require a format and reinstall to move from Windows 2000 server to
Windows XP.

Format? As in reformating the drive? Or as in reconfig the network? Both?
Sounds like a pain in the ...and maybe not worth it?

Reformat the drive which will have the side effect of destroying all
existing network info on this computer. You would have to format the
computer, install XP then configure the network info.

I'll let you be the judge of that.

You should be able to set up a VPN between the two computers as they are
now.
