I have an HP Pravilion 4550z which I recently upgraded to XP Home. I performed the upgrade by first formatting the hard then loading of the OS (A.K.A. clean install). I am having one little issue. The pc has a combination Riptide pci modem/sound card. The problem is when I use my dail up on my other pc the normal dialing up sounds is coming through the HP speakers. Not the modem speaker but the destop speakers. And yes the modem speaker in both pc's are diabled. Has anyone else had to deal with this? Also, can someone point me to a location of a current driver for such a combo card since HP has zero support for it.

Thanks,
BoB

Oh yeah, the Riptide - I remember those nasty little cards. The best
thing for you to do is uninstall and physically remove the card and
replace it with a decent sound card (you can get one for under $20usd)
and pci modem ($25usd or less). That way you will have proper drivers
for XP. As you have discovered, there is no support for that older
combo card.
