Upgrade of GPO with XP adms results in bi-lingual Policies -HELP-

Hi,

I've ran into a bit of a stupid problem. I fired up the Group Policy
Editor on a Dutch language installation of Windows XP (in order to
upgrade the Windows 2000 GPO with the XP SP2 ADM's).

Now it's a mixed GPO (English / Dutch). I forgot to make a backup. Is
there a way to restore the old ADM/GPO ?

I read some posts about resetdefpol but am unable to find it.

TIA,

Raymond

Here is the KB Article which you could follow

Upgrading Windows 2000 Group Policy for Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=307900

It talks about a lil diff issue but it would sort out your issue.
This time to undo what you did, from a English Only Windows XP
Pro box or from a Windows 2000 box: you can actually overwrite
the ADM files with Pure English ones.

About your q on recreatedefpol (recreate default policies)
Are you on a Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 Domain
on Windows 2000 you can use recreatedefpol
[
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...ae-b7dd-4bb5-ab2a-976d6873129d&DisplayLang=en ]

on Windows 2003 you can use dcgpofix. its built into the OS.

However these tools only recraete the default Domain Policy and
Default Domain Controller policy. It would not touch the other
Group Policies you have set.

Good luck
