Upgrade ME to 2000, receiving svchost.exe errors

I recently upgraded my computer to 2000 from ME, after the
upgrade I intermittently receive svchost.exe error. When
this happens I loose functionality and have to reboot the
computer. I have done an upgrade, a complete install and
a fresh install after fdisk and format. I've tried 2
different installs 2000 sp1 and 2000 sp 3 so I don't think
it is my 2000 disks. Can anyone help with suggestions?

did this work, leenie? i have the same issue upgrading
from 98 to 2k. can't even run windows update...
